The unique and innovative collaboration between Shane Robinson Fine Art Gallery at the Andaz Maui at Wailea resort has come to an end.
In late 2013, after installing a large abstract photography commission for the executive offices at the Andaz Maui at Wailea resort, we were given the opportunity to design and occupy a gallery space in the main lobby.
It was the first of its kind for any Andaz location, or any Hyatt Hotel, around the world. To our knowledge, it remains the only gallery at any Hyatt in the world in which the artwork was created exclusively for the hotel and the subject matter was sourced on the hotel property. It was an unscripted trek into unexplored lands.
My partner, Roxanne Darling, and I are very proud of the art work that was created and appreciate the learning opportunities the gallery provided over the last 18+ months. Not only has it added color and vitality to the space, it has also been a gathering place for interesting ideas and inspiring people.
To all of my friends and collectors who purchased work and provided emotional and/or physical support, mahalo nui loa! Deep thanks also to the guests of the Andaz who stopped by during the Friday Art Hour, purchased work, and/or left wonderfully supportive comments. I hope the artwork brightened your trips through the arrival lounge and enhanced your visit to our magical Maui.
The gallery’s last day is scheduled for Sunday, May 10th.
Here at Shane Robinson Fine Art, we are very excited about what the future holds for us. Please join Shane Robinson’s email list to stay connected and you may continue shopping at our online gallery.
I left the ending ambiguous, because that is the way life is.
