The main draw for the Maui Open Studios tour is the chance to visit the artists in their working environments. This Sat and Sun, February 12 & 13, we will open the studio (aka warehouse space) so you can to meet with Shane, view his art at your leisure, play with creating a perfect piece for your environment, and watch art being made. Plus, we’ll have yummy, refreshing pūp&#363 and seating to make yourself comfortable. The space is huge so please bring your family or art-loving friends!

Shane will be doing demos of his ICM photography and also a new dye transfer printing process using a modern ingredient that will surprise you! Who knows maybe you will be able to sit for a modern digital portrait as models will be needed. Or just lounge around with us and talk story; it’s all good.

Tweetup on Saturday 4-6 pm!

In keeping with our love of social media, we are also hosting a tweetup on Saturday from 4 - 6 pm. Our friend and colleague, Tara Coomans, who chairs the board of Social Media Club Hawaii, is coming over with her husband and we hope to introduce her to as many of our Maui friends as possible! Sign up for the tweetup and use the hashtag #MauiOS to see all the conversation online about the weekend’s events. Follow Shane on Twitter @Shane and me @roxannedarling. And if you can’t make it, please join Shane on Facebook.

Also in the cannery at Haiku is silk painter, Cudra Clover, who as out-going as Shane is reserved…so they make a perfect pair of artists!

We keep hearing how perfect Shane’s photography is for designers and architects - it speaks to the modern/contemporary sensibility, that can be easily adapted to numerous spaces. The beauty of digital art is how well it lends itself to being customized perfectly to your requirements. Over an above that, Shane’s photography - which appears to catch photons in their suspended state - serves to inspire, sooth, and excite all at once while tapping into that field of unlimited possibilities. Perfect for spas, homes, hotels, B&Bs, and commercial spaces.

So please come on over, anytime Saturday or Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm and get your creative juices flowing. We’ll have special weekend-only pricing and lots of cool things to see and do. Google Map Link here.
